Now that we are getting close to the end of 2015 the attention will turn to making new years resolutions and what people are going to change for 2016.
Here are the best ways in my opinion to stick to them:
- Speak to like-minded people about what you are looking to achieve.
- Speak to people that have done it or are ‘experts’ in the area you are looking to pursue.
- Write it down and put it somewhere you can see it daily to remind yourself of what you are looking to achieve.
- Set realistic time frames. This may mean setting smaller versions of your goal throughout the year so you can see progress towards the end goal so you don’t lose interest in it.
- Sign up to an event. The best way to stick to something is to pay to sign up to an event so you have a deadline of something to work towards. This could be signing up to do a run, swim, mountain trek, cycle ride, assault course, charity event etc.
Lastly, remember the New Year doesn’t have to be the only time you can set yourself goals. If you want to do something then do it no matter what time of year it is!
